COMMON QUESTIONS

The measurement uses requestAnimationFrame timing with performance.now() for microsecond precision. Accuracy depends on your browser and system, but typically detects refresh rates within ±1Hz for standard displays.
Small fluctuations are normal due to browser rendering overhead, system load, and display timing variations. The tool shows average values to give you a stable reading of your display's refresh rate.
The tool measures the actual refresh rate at any given moment. For VRR displays (FreeSync/G-Sync), you may see the refresh rate change based on content and system load, which is expected behavior.
Refresh rate (Hz) is your monitor's maximum display update frequency. Frame rate (FPS) is how many frames your GPU renders per second. Your FPS can be higher than refresh rate, but you'll only see up to your refresh rate.
This usually means your display is running at 60Hz despite being capable of higher rates. Check your system display settings and ensure your refresh rate is set correctly in Windows/Mac display preferences.
